Alira Grand Vin Feteasca Neagra 2011
Winemaking: The grapes are hand‐picked, then carefully selected on sorting tables. Cold maceration of whole berries is performed from 3 to 5 days at 14 °C. Alcohol fermentation (100% with addition of selected yeast strains) is controlled at 26‐28 °C during 6‐8 days, followed by maceration from 12 to 15 days in thermo‐regulated tanks.
Barrels: Ageing in 50% One year, 50% Two years’ old French oak barrels for about 11 months.
Production: 25,500 bottles.
Variety: New vineyard 1st vintage. Feteasca Neagra 100%.

Taste: This purple color reveals notes of toasted bread, vanilla and raspberry. The woody tannins are perfectly balanced with red fruits middle and a very long after taste. This wine is a rare example of what this typical Romanian varietal can produce Can be taste young and decanted but could age 5 to 8 years in your cellar.
