Hyperion Adrian Vineyard – Feteasca Neagra 2010, DOC-CMD Dealu Mare
VINEYARD NOTES: Dealu Mare Region (or Big Hill) lies on the 45° parallel, sharing the same latitude with Bordeaux and Piemonte; it is the most compact wine producing region in Romania and considered the original birthplace of red wines of exceptional quality.
VINTAGE REPORT: The typical warm, dry microclimate and the rather long autumns favour a slow and thorough ripening of the grapes. There is a long vegetation time of 210-240 days with a maximum humidity of 55- 80%. The soil here is strewn with marine fossils and the grapes enjoy the perfect combination of warm days and cool nights.
WINEMAKING: Hand harvesting at full maturity; grapes carefully selected. Maceration-fermentation at 28°C in vertical stainless steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation immediately after alcoholic fermentation. Ageing for 9 months in new French oak barrels. Gentle filtering. Bottling and labelling; Ageing in bottles for 22 months.
SERVING: Best served at 16-18°C. Pair it with grilled red meats, lamb, cheeses and pastas.

TASTING NOTES: This wine is part of a limited edition of 8000 bottles from our best Feteasca Neagra grapes, picked from our Adrian Vineyard in the Dealu Mare region. Garnet red, pure and bright, well structured, full bodied and balanced, Hyperion Feteasca Neagra is a fine wine, velvety and elegant. Aged for 9 months in French oak, the wine shows an enticing combination of black cherries, blueberries and ripe plums, enhanced by a touch of spice that enriches its complexity.
